Morven Museum & Garden

July 4th Jubilee FY24

Fourth of July Jubilee

Thursday, July 4, 2024, from 12:00—3:00 p.m.

Morven Museum & Garden — 55 Stockton Street, Princeton, NJ

It’s Morven’s 20th anniversary! Join the commemoration this Independence Day as we reflect on history, civic engagement, and community at the museum’s annual Fourth of July festival.

In 1783, Morven hosted Congressional delegates marking Independence Day. Over 240 years later, the museum continues this tradition, utilizing our role as the home of a signer of the Declaration of Independence (and as New Jersey’s first Governor’s mansion) to engage in what it means to be an active citizen and explore America’s ongoing journey to form “a more perfect union.”

The 2024 event will take place as part of Civic Season, a national program of activities connecting Juneteenth and July 4th to better understand our past and shape our future. Join us for an afternoon with community partners, family-friendly activities, live music, food, and more.

The 2024 festival will feature: community partners hosting family-friendly activities and crafts inspired by themes of history, civics, and service; tours of Morven’s gardens; live music from the Vintage Vibe Tribe; food from Oink & Moo BBQ, The Empanada Guy, and Kona Ice; face painting with Maya B. the Facepaint Fairy; an opportunity to sign the Declaration of Independence; and much more.

We will be joined by the following community partners: Princeton Public Library, YWCA Princeton, Historical Society of Princeton, Paul Robeson House of Princeton, Witherspoon Jackson Historical and Cultural Society, the Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum, Princeton Academy of Art, RevolutionNJ, and People & Stories/Gente y Cuentos.

This is a good weather event only. If rain is forecast, please visit this page for updates.

The 2024 Fourth of July Jubilee is sponsored by Blue Sky Green Earth, Baxter Construction, and Fulton Bank.
