Experience a behind-the-scenes look at Morven’s newly updated permanent exhibition with Morven’s curators and research team.

The museum’s first floor exhibition, Historic Morven: A Window into America’s Past, was updated this winter to incorporate new information uncovered by historian Sharece Blakney’s 2022 Morven and Slavery research project. Please join us for a gallery tour exploring new stories presented on the walls, exploring the lives of individual people who were enslaved by the Stockton family, as well as the lives of some of those who were manumitted. The tour will be led by curators Beth Allan and Jesse Gordon Simons and historian Sharece Blakney, and followed by a seated question and answer session in Morven’s Garden Room. Juice, water, and cookies will be provided.

This program is limited to 25 participants. Pre-registration is required.

The incorporation of new research into Morven's permanent exhibition was made possible, in part, by Fulton Bank and the Mercer County Cultural & Heritage Commission, through funding from the Mercer County Board of Commissioners and the New Jersey Historical Commission.
