Celebrate OAKtober with the Marquand Park Foundation and Morven Museum & Garden! You’re invited to a special evening of talks with local researchers exploring the legacy of oaks.
Daniel Druckenbrod, Professor in the Department of Earth and Chemical Sciences at Rider University, will discuss his work dating trees using Dendrochronology including an oak from Marquand Park.
Elizabeth Hyde, Professor in the Department of History at Kean University, will present her research surrounding André Michaux’s “Historie des Chênes de L'Amérique” and the geo-politics of the oak in the 18th century Atlantic World.
This in-person program will take place in Morven’s Stockton Education Center. Free parking is available in the museum’s parking lot located at 55 Stockton Street, Princeton, NJ 08540.
