Capture the beauty of Morven’s gardens and grounds in a two-day Plein-Air Painting Workshop with the Arts Council of Princeton and instructor, Debra Pisacreta.
Description
This workshop will take place on the beautiful grounds of Morven Museum & Garden. We’ll begin the first day with a demo and discussion of equipment and methods for painting on location. In the afternoon we will focus on composition and completing a few small sketches of scenes on the property. Sketching is a great way to become familiar with the scene which you will use as a basis for a painting. On the second day the instructor will work with each person individually to help you select the appropriate palette, transfer your sketches to your canvas, and complete your painting. We will end the day with a critique and suggestions for further development of the paintings.
This workshop is open to both oil and gouache painters. Please indicate which medium you will be working in.

Instructor
l love being outside observing light, colors, and movement so I choose to paint plein-air. Being in the environment inspires me to create unique compositions that reflect what I consider special about the location. I discovered my passion for art when I took a drawing class in college. I was hooked. My determination and obsession with art has led me to study with many artists whose work I admire, as well as to take classes at art schools such as The Art Students League of New York and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. I am grateful to be on this journey that always brings me joy and that changes me and my art in ways that I cannot anticipate.
