Grow your own gorgeous vines, just like the ones we have at our Morven Education Center! Seeds were collected last year at Morven and curated for you. Dark foliage, ornamental purple flowers and beans, these are a vigorous growing garden delight. Native to Africa, they were introduced to European gardeners in the 1700s and offered for sale by American nurserymen by the early 1800s. Thomas Jefferson grew them at Monticello. Members of the legume family, these also enrich the soil with Nitrogen as they grow. An annual climbing vine, hyacynth bean will cover a trellis or screen and area quickly!Sun.
