Easy to grow in many soil types, garlic chives prefer full sun and moisture. They have thin, flat green leaves with attractive white flowers in mid-summer/early fall. Snip the leaves to add mild garlic flavor to salads and vegetable dishes, and also in Asian meat dumplings! Can be used fresh or dried. Their edible flowers look great on long erect stems – or leave them in your garden to give the bees a welcome feast, and they will re-seed freely, and give winter interest. Can even be used as a ground cover!
